Event Overview: 

The Raleigh Graduate Chapter is proud to host the official launch of the Dr. Gwen Keith Newsome Foundation for Mental Wellness. This powerful initiative brings together five North Carolina chapters to strengthen community support for suicide prevention and mental health awareness.

 

This event represents our commitment to equipping communities with the tools, resources, and knowledge needed to support individuals and families facing mental health challenges.

Participants and community partners will receive:

• Gun locks to promote firearm safety
• Narcan to help prevent overdose deaths
• Mental health education and awareness resources
• Suicide prevention tools and information
• Training to support community outreach and advocacy

Special Highlights:

• A City of Raleigh proclamation declaring March 28 as Dr. Gwen Keith Newsome Day
• A community health fair following the launch
• Mobile wellness units providing on-site services and resources
